Frequently Asked Dental Questions
How often should I visit the dentist?
As a basic guideline, we recommend visiting the dentist twice a year. This allows us to keep your teeth clean and spot any areas of concern before they develop into major problems. If you haven’t been to the dentist in a while, give us a call to schedule an appointment and get back into the twice-a-year swing of things. It is also important to bring your children to the dentist regularly to establish good dental habits as they grow up. The experienced family and pediatric dentists and friendly team at Clark Family Dental are here to help you and your family enjoy a lifetime of dental health.
What should I expect during my first appointment?
During your first visit, we’ll perform a detailed exam of your teeth and oral health, including X-rays to literally give us an in-depth view of your mouth. After a thorough cleaning, we’ll talk to you about any treatments we recommend. We are a paperless office, and you can fill out your new patient forms here before coming in for your visit.
When are you open?
Trying to fit a trip to the dentist’s office into your busy schedule shouldn’t be a hassle, so we offer accommodating office hours to fit your needs. We’re open Monday through Friday, with both early morning and evening appointment options. We also offer Saturday appointments by request. Give us a call to schedule a visit!
Do you accept dental insurance?
We are in-network providers for a wide number of dental insurance providers, and we’ll work directly with your insurance provider to file claims and simplify things for you.
Do you offer teeth whitening options?
Teeth whitening is a very popular and affordable way to improve your smile, and we offer both in-office and take-home options for safe and effective teeth whitening. In fact, we even offer free teeth whitening for life to new patients! Give us a call to find out more and schedule an appointment.
What are the advantages of Invisalign?
With Invisalign, you get straighter teeth without having to fill your mouth with metal wires. This makes Invisalign clear aligners a popular orthodontic choice for adults and anybody else who wants straighter teeth without the unwanted attention of metal braces. Because you can remove the aligners during meals or brushing and flossing, Invisalign also lets you avoid the hassle of eating and keeping your teeth clean with metal braces. To find out if Invisalign will be a good option for you, give us a call!
Which is less expensive, Invisalign or traditional metal braces?
The costs of orthodontic treatments vary depending on the specifics of each set of teeth, but the cost of Invisalign is often comparable to the cost of traditional braces.
What are dental implants?
Dental implants are a permanent solution for replacing missing teeth, leaving you with teeth that look and feel just like your natural teeth. During this procedure, a titanium post is placed into the jawbone in the empty spot left by the missing tooth. The jawbone actually grows onto and fuses with the post, providing a firm, durable "root" for the carefully crafted replacement tooth. The new tooth can be cleaned and treated just like your other teeth, making dental implants a great alternative to traditional bridges and dentures.
