Cosmetic Dental Bonding

Here at Clark Family Dental, we want your smile to be everything you want it to be: strong, healthy and beautiful. We understand the mental and emotional benefits associated with attractive teeth, and we are here to help you achieve the smile you’ve always wanted.

One of the most versatile cosmetic dentistry treatments available today is cosmetic dental bonding. Dental bonding is the process by which cracks, gaps, chips, broken teeth, or other flaws are repaired using an enamel-colored composite resin. This process can be used to address a large number of cosmetic dental complaints, and is one of the most convenient and affordable dental services available.

In usually less than an hour, and with minimal discomfort, your teeth can be restored or improved so that you can smile with radiance and confidence. Some of the problems that can be corrected using dental bonding include the following:

  • Chipped or cracked teeth
  • Conspicuous gaps between teeth
  • Unattractively shaped teeth
  • Unsuitably short teeth
  • Old metal fillings
  • Stained or discolored teeth
  • New cavities
  • Exposed tooth roots due to receding gums

Cosmetic dental bonding is an excellent choice for those who want a quick fix for any of these issues and more. It is very affordable, comparing favorably to the other options (such as dental crowns or veneers) you may consider to treat these same concerns. Because the resin is applied directly to your tooth, rather than being created elsewhere before application, the procedure is one of the fastest cosmetic procedures you can have performed. In as little as 45 minutes, we can have you in, your teeth corrected, and you on your way looking great!

The Procedure

Dr. Clark will use a specialized tool to roughen the surface of the tooth being bonded. Then a liquid will be applied that will encourage the bonding material to adhere to the tooth. The putty-like resin, matched perfectly to the shade of your tooth, will be applied and shaped, molding it to precisely the right form. Once the tooth looks both natural and beautiful, an ultraviolet light is applied to help the resin harden. Finally, the tooth will be given any final shaping or polishing needed, and the procedure is complete! Many of our patients have been pleasantly surprised by how convenient and easy this is, and have enjoyed their newly improved teeth for years to come.

Dr. Clark and Dr. Malys-Clark are some of the best dentists in New Albany. Our staff here at Clark Family Dental are fully trained and qualified to provide the excellent care you deserve.
